Haircut Day

There's always a motive behind Anna's trips to the salon, and I should have known something was up. As it turns out, she had mentioned weeks ago that she was meeting with some friends on Saturday night, and it completely slipped my mind. Since she was going out, she was getting her hair done. it was then that I decided to approach this haircut day with no expectations.  The fact that there was no prior mention of this trip to the salon, and the conversation had when I did find out, lead me to believe that by the end of the day, I would not be blogging ( which I'm realizing is a synonym for bragging ) about some wicked asymmetrical cut with a buzzed nape.

I carried on my day like nothing was going to happen. Given the fact that her appointment wasn't until 4pm, I would have drove myself crazy wondering what was going to happen if I  put any thought into it. I kept myself busy running errands and around 4:30, I noticed I'd missed a call from Anna. I happened to be right down the road from the salon and figured I could stop by and see what she wanted. Pulling into the parking lot, I saw her truck, and knew she was there. I walked into the salon and darted my eyes around the salon until I spotted her. As I got closer to her, two things were apparent. Her nape was not buzzed, and Lorraine was already flat ironing her hair, which meant there would be no more cutting.

I approached Anna on her left side, the shorter side of her asymmetrical cut, while Lorraine flat ironed the right side. We talked for a bit, then Anna pointed out that she had Lorraine cut the right side to match the left. When I saw her hair was no longer  asymmetrical, I recalled to her that she mentioned doing a bob.  She then said she wanted to change a little, and that after the summer she would go back to an asymmetric cut.

Since she was almost done, I stayed with her until she was ready to leave. As we were leaving the salon, I snapped a few spy shots of her at the counter.

Once we got home, the new haircut began to grow on me. I told Anna that I kinda liked this new bob. It was a bit shorter than before, since the long side had to be cut to match the shorter side, and the back had a nice stacked look to it. I wanted to get some photos, but there just wasn’t enough time to do so.The following day, I managed to get some day 2 photos.

Anna explained to me her intention of letting her hair grow so the back matches the front for a one length bob.

Am I disappointed? Just a bit. Overall, I can't complain. Anna's hair history has proven that she's a woman that likes to change. Expecting her to keep a particular style for a long period of time is not going to happen. And considering that she's had a short nape for the past year, I had to know a change was coming.

But that's what makes Anna the woman that she is, and I love her for it. I wouldn't have her any other way.
