Hi Everybody,
I was thrilled to see so many positive comments regarding my latest haircut and to receive such great e-mails!
In all honesty, I knew exactly how I wanted my hair cut. I just wasn't telling Enzo, or he would have harassed me to have it cut sooner. The game plan was to grow my hair long enough so it covered my ears, but I also wanted to appease Enzo and get the back buzzed. So I had to let it grow for a few months until both of my ears were covered. Unfortunately, I lost contact with my stylist while I waited for my hair to grow, but luckily, her replacement was able to step up and do a great job.
When I met with Lorraine, I told her that I wanted my hair cut asymmetrical, but I didn't want my ears to show. I also told her that I wanted my nape buzzed, but not too high up the back. Lorraine seemed to be on the same page as me, as she described in detail how she would cut my hair.
One of the points that Lorraine made was that my hair was not only out of shape, but it was way too thick and needed to be thinned out. I felt confident in her abilities and allowed her to do what she felt was necessary.
Once the cutting began, I found myself staring squarely into the mirror. Lorraine started at the back and began cutting. I couldn't tell how much hair was coming off, but it seemed like she spent a considerable amount of time cutting at the back. She then cut my hair all the way around, giving my hair a precision shape that it had been lacking. After shaping, she took out her thinning shears and took a lot of the bulk out. Finally, the moment of truth came and Lorraine took out the buzzer. She told me to to worry and that she wouldn't make it too short. I continued to stare straight ahead as I felt the buzzer run up my neck. Then Lorraine took out a smaller buzzer and cleaned up the neckline.
When Lorraine was done, she spun the chair around and showed me the back with a mirror. I was happy with the way it looked, and couldn't resist touching it. Lorraine asked me how i liked it and I told her honestly that it was great and felt clean.
Arriving home, I was a bit nervous that Enzo wouldn't like the way it looked, but I think overall, he's happy. I think the cut is a good compromise of what he likes and what I like.
I really do like it. See, I'm smiling!
