Christmas Eve 2011 was the last time that I had my hair cut. My intent was to let my hair grow a bit for the winter, but decided to have it cut for the holiday. After the holiday, I stood firm on letting my hair grow. Now, three month later, I can't deny that I need a haircut. My hair is simply getting overgrown and out of shape. After Enzo colored my hair last week, I decided it was time to make an appointment to get a haircut. I figured all I'd have to do would be to call the salon and schedule an appointment with Nora. However, when I called, i found out Nora no longer works at the salon. I was told that she quit a month ago, and I would have to make my appointment with Lorraine, and her next available appointment was on Sunday, April 1st. I scheduled an appointment with Lorraine, but wasn't too sure that I wanted her to do my hair. The last time Lorraine cut my hair, she gave me a haircut that Enzo really loved, but wasn't exactly what I was looking for. So I decided to ask a few of my friends their opinion. the common thread among their opinions was for me to use the salon that they go to. I'm now left with these choices:
My third option is Great Clips. They too provide no-appointment, affordable haircuts in a comfortable, friendly salon.I was told that I could either do on-line booking or book from my I-phone app without waiting in line. I told her about my concerns using a chain salon, and she told me that they do everything computerized. You tell the girl how you want your hair cut, and they input it into the computer, so the next time you go, whichever stylist you get looks in the computer and sees how you have your hair done. A cool concept.
Ads By GoogleOne of my friends suggested Supercuts. Her claim was that they a value-minded hair salon that offers cuts, color and a range of products. She told me that I didn't need an appointment and could go anytime. She said there is very little wait time and they are very accommodating. I told her that I'm a little weary about using a chain salon and not having a regular stylist, but she assured me that the girls are all very good and the service is great.
Another friend suggested a local salon that she goes to. When I had a look at the place, it looked a little dingy and dirty.
Additionally, she has a very simple long hairstyle that she only gets the ends trimmed off of. I can't be sure if they are a good salon, since I've only seen them give a simple trim, and quite honestly, I can never tell when my friend gets her hair cut, for it always looks the same.

Enzo wasn't too helpful. He suggested I go back to Bonnie. As we all know, I vowed never to let her cut my hair again.
So those are my options. I'm hoping to get some feedback from some of the visitors. As it stands, I still have the appointment for Sunday with Lorraine. let me know what you think.
